Job summary

Adventist HealthCare's Outpatient Orthopedic Practice seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to guide total joint replacement patients through pre-, peri-, and post-operative processes. You will manage appointments, clearances, authorizations, and communications with patients and insurers.

The role emphasizes strong patient education, organizational skills, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care throughout the surgical journey.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree preferred in health sciences or related field.
• Experience in physician or orthopedic practice and care coordination desired.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or RMA or equivalent cert required.
• Active BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for total joint replacement patients throughout the surgical journey.
• Coordinate surgery-related appointments, medical clearance, and pre-admission testing.
• Manage referrals, scheduling, authorizations, and communications with insurance carriers and patients.
• Support post-operative pain management in line with surgeon protocol.
• Provide educational materials and answer patient questions about the surgical process.
