Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an Orthopedic Coordinator to guide patients and families through the surgery care continuum. You will educate patients, coordinate scheduling, manage care transitions, discharge planning and post-follow up to ensure a smooth recovery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Healthcare, 3+ years of clinical experience, and strong interpersonal communication. BLS is required within 30 days of hire; orthopedic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Healthcare related field is required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Three years of clinical experience are required.
• Orthopedic specialty education/experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Orthopedic Coordinator is an advocate, educator and experience guide for the orthopedic surgical patient, as well as family members through the surgery care continuum.
• The Coordinator is the primary point of contact with the patient and serves as the intermediary between the patient and other care team members.
• Responsible for patient education, scheduling, care transition, discharge and post follow up.
