Community Health Systems, Inc. is seeking a Scheduling Specialist to manage and optimize patient and physician scheduling across departments, ensuring efficient resource use and high-quality care.

You will liaise with patients, clinicians, and admin teams to deliver timely, accurate scheduling and exceptional service. The role requires strong organizational skills, experience with EMR systems or scheduling software, and a patient-centered approach to communication in a fast-paced hospital

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in Healthcare Administration, Medical Office Administration, or related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in medical scheduling, administrative support, or customer service preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience with EMR systems, scheduling software, or medical front desk operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patient appointments for consultations, tests, procedures, and follow-ups with proper time/resource allocation.
• Notifies patients of confirmations, cancellations, or reschedules with clear information and instructions.
• Enters and updates patient information into EMR or scheduling system.
• Coordinates with medical staff to align appointments with clinical priorities.
• Tracks cancellations and no-shows and reschedules promptly.
• Provides general administrative assistance (calls, referrals, file coordination).
• Works with Order Facilitator to review orders for validity.
