Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare scheduling, patient registration, customer service, or medical office administration
• Strong computer skills with EMR systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Schedule new and follow-up orthopedic patient appointments accurately and efficiently
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic, insurance, and medical information in the EMR system
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as required
• Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries professionally
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and imaging appointments
• Collect and document patient information while ensuring HIPAA compliance
• Manage appointment confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling requests
• Assist patients with forms, paperwork, and payment-related questions
• Collaborate with physicians, medical assistants, and office staff to ensure efficient patient flow
• Maintain accurate records and perform other administrative duties as assigned
