Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Specialty Schegistrar to join Beloit Clinic Registration in Wisconsin. The role focuses on scheduling and pre-registration for upcoming orthopedic services, ensuring a positive patient experience.

It requires gathering demographic data and coordinating with care providers to schedule timely visits. The candidate will obtain patient information, provide visit instructions, manage appointments to prevent over- or under-booking, and document encounters in the EHR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification as Nursing or Medical Assistant, or its equivalent or higher
• Minimum of four years' experience in health care setting
• Clinical, Surgical and medical diagnostic scheduling experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Obtain pertinent information from patients, other care providers and health records to schedule orthopedic visits with appropriate provider
• Provide clear instructions to patients regarding upcoming visits, including preparation for procedures
• Address referred calls and messages and maintain an accurate record of appointments to avoid over- or under-booking
• Interview and pre-register patients promptly, professionally and confidentially
• Coordinate with third-party payers to secure benefits and coverage for scheduling care
• Initiate and complete necessary authorizations as directed by provider orders
• Document conversations with patients, providers, and staff in the EHR
