Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology is required
• State licensure preferred
• BLS certification required at hire at some Mercy Health locations; otherwise prior to independent patient care at other locations

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and lab information for licensed practitioner use
• Position patient to optimize image quality while ensuring comfort
• Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure
• Perform radiographic procedures using imaging equipment
• Verify informed consent and complete pre/post procedure documentation
• Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic procedures and aseptic technique
• Perform timeouts per policy
• Identify, prepare and/or administer medications/contrast as prescribed
