Job summary

Mercy Health in Youngstown, OH is seeking a Radiology Technologist to provide diagnostic imaging services. The role requires applying radiologic techniques under supervision, ensuring patient safety and quality imaging.

Responsibilities include history intake, positioning, radiation protection, and assisting with procedures. ARRT certification and BLS are required, with state licensure preferred. Mercy Health offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates from an ARRT-accredited institute (preferred).
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred).
• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required).
• State licensure (preferred, unless required by state).
• BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some Mercy locations).

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient’s clinical history and lab work, documented for licensed practitioner.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to demonstrate area of interest.
• Minimizes exposure through radiation protection principles.
• Operates imaging equipment to perform radiographic procedures.
• Pre/post procedure documentation and informed consent support.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and radiography procedures.
• Performs timeout per policy and administers medications/contrast as prescribed.
