Orthopedic Associates of Flower Mound & Northlake is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff in a fast-paced orthopedic setting. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
• Current CPR certification (CPR, BLS).
• Two years orthopedic experience preferred.
• Three years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for visit by directing/accompanying to the examination or X-ray room and assisting with positioning.
• Interviews patient and records medical histories; may order x-rays per provider order or protocol.
• Assists health care providers during examinations as directed.
• Duties may include dressing changes, vital signs, blood draws, casting/splints, and wound care.
• Prepares and orders medication prescriptions and orders for imaging and DME as directed by provider; documents in EMR.
• Schedules appointments and tests following scheduling protocols and ensures follow-up visits.
