Job summary

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinical staff with patient care, exam preparation, and minor procedures. The role emphasizes accurate EMR documentation, patient education, and coordination of imaging.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of CMA/RMA program preferred.
• 2–3 years in a clinical setting; orthopedic or surgical experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist providers with patient examinations and minor procedures.
• Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints in the EMR.
• Apply and remove orthopedic devices under provider supervision.
• Provide patient education on preoperative and postoperative care and medications.
• Assist with in-office imaging coordination (X-rays, MRIs) and timely follow-up.
• Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical areas.
• Perform administrative duties including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient records.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
• Support surgical scheduling and pre-operative preparation as needed.
