Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced LPN for the NT4 Orthopedics-Urology Surgical Unit. The unit has 41 beds and a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio, with close collaboration with PT/OT and a fast-paced throughput environment.

The role includes medication administration, IV therapy support, wound and ostomy care, and bedside charting under RN supervision. BLS within 30 days and IL IDFPR licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and IL IDFPR registration.
• BLS certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans, RN to open new care plans as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
• Complete trach care, NG tube care, feeding through NG tube and ostomy care.
