Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to join the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. The unit cares for 41 beds, with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio, and collaborates with therapists for a rapid recovery process.

The role includes medication administration, IV therapies, wound care, NG/trach support, and close coordination with RNs and physicians. BLS within 30 days and IL LPN licensure are required. This is a dynamic, multi-faceted unit with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in Illinois (IL).
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• College diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks/fluids (excludes IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after initial RN assessment.
• Update care plans and coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care, dressings and ostomy care as needed.
