Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. The role involves medication administration, IV therapy, and close collaboration with RNs and physicians to ensure timely care for ortho and urology surgical patients.

The unit emphasizes fast throughput, a 41-bed capacity, and a team-focused culture with educator support, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient recovery pathways.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with active license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in orthopaedic and urology surgical care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and care plans.
• Perform dressing changes and NG tube care as needed.
• Reinforce education and discharge instructions for patients.
