Job summary

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, seeks an experienced clinical assistant to support physicians with casting, splinting, bracing, and DME applications. You will manage patient information, educate patients on care plans, and document all care in the EMR in a timely manner.

The role includes coordinating DME, verifying benefits, and ensuring compliance with Medicare/Medicaid, OSHA, and regulatory standards, while assisting with inventory and clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training is required; LAT licensure (Texas) preferred.
• Minimum 2–5 years of clinical orthopedic/sports medicine experience.
• Experience with casting, splinting, DME fitting, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care including casting, splinting, bracing, and DME application.
• Coordinate DME: ordering, fitting, dispensing, and documentation.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations; ensure Medicare/Medicaid compliance.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation for patient care and DME activities.
• Manage inventory of braces and casting materials; ensure stock levels and cost control.
• Support clinic workflow by assisting with rooming and cross-covering duties.
