Job summary

The Orthopedic Institute of Wisconsin (OIW) is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our Mt Pleasant and Franklin clinics. This full-time position will greet patients, collect demographic and insurance information, schedule follow-ups, and ensure medical records are accurate.

The role requires travel between Mt Pleasant and Franklin locations and a patient-centric approach. Pay starts at $18 per hour and is based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous medical reception experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient demographics and verifies insurance.
• Welcomes patients with excellent customer service.
• Organizes charts for providers and matches to schedule.
• Records co-pays and updates patient remarks in the chart.
• Handles difficult patient situations professionally and calmly.
• Manages imaging orders and forwards to appropriate resources.
• Assists with check-out and patient follow-up steps.
• Open/close office and prepare for next day’s clinic.
• Adheres to HIPAA and OSHA standards.
• Willingness to travel between Mt Pleasant and Franklin locations.
