Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Santa Fe, NM seeks a clinic administrator responsible for increasing physician efficiency and improving patient experience. The role acts as the primary contact for patients, coordinating clinical and administrative questions, obtaining prior authorizations, scheduling procedures, and ensuring smooth coordination of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical terminology required.
• 1 year experience in a related health care field; 3 years preferred.
• Windows environment, Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
• Keyboarding skills and ability to operate general office equipment.
• Read and write in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides primary administrative support for a physician's clinic and patients.
• Manages the provider's schedule (clinic and OR) to optimize efficiency and customer service.
• Handles all patient telephone calls in a timely manner and follows up.
• Schedules surgeries and ensures pre-operative paperwork and tests are completed on time.
• Schedules follow-up visits, lab, radiology, and other testing.
• Greets patients, escorts to exam rooms, records vitals and chief complaint.
