Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide patient-centered orthopedic care in the Berkeley Medical Center system. The APP will collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and staff to assess, diagnose, and manage patients across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

The role emphasizes perioperative support, comprehensive evaluations, discharge planning, and ongoing education to patients and families within a dynamic orthopedic service line.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with master’s degree in nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an RN and APRN in WV.
• CNOR Certification.
• BLS with Advanced Life Support training as required.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized orthopedic patient care across inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Performs daily rounds and peri-operative care including first assists.
• Documents findings and coordinates follow-up care and referrals.
• Supports discharge planning and patient education with the health care team.
• Assists in coordinating care and maintains patient safety and quality outcomes.
