Job summary

The West Virginia University Health System seeks an Advance Practice Professional (APP) with orthopedic care expertise to join its inpatient and ambulatory teams in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The APP will conduct comprehensive evaluations, direct care plans, assist perioperative management, coordinate discharge, and teach residents and students in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Candidates must hold PA degree, ARC-PA training, NCCPA certification, WV licensure eligibility, BLS, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as Physician Assistant is required or Master’s degree preferred.
• ARC-PA approved PA training program required.
• NCCPA certification required; WV licensure eligibility required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS at department discretion preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized orthopedic care in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
• Participates in peri-operative management and first assisting in the operative suite.
• Completes daily rounds, conducts pre-procedure evaluations, and coordinates discharge planning.
