Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) in Orthopedics at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. The APP will manage comprehensive orthopedic care from inpatient to ambulatory settings, participate in OR first-assist duties, and coordinate perioperative planning and discharge follow-up.

Requirements include PA degree (ARC-PA), NCCPA certification, WV licensure eligibility, and BLS; ACLS may be required per department.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include PA degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) and ARC-PA approval.
• NCCPA certification and active/eligible WV licensure are required.
• BLS; ACLS may be required at department discretion; hospital privileges apply.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive orthopedic patient care in inpatient, perioperative, and ambulatory settings.
• Participates in first-assist duties in the OR and post-operative follow-up.
• Performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and coordinates discharge planning.
• Orders tests and consultations per clinical guidelines; documents findings in medical records.
• Collaborates with orthopedic faculty and care teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provides education to staff, patients, and families and supports continuous learning.
