Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as RN/APRN in WV.
• CNOR Certification and BLS with ACLS as required by department.
• APRNs may be privileged as First Assists in perioperative services.

Responsibilities

• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for orthopedic patients and families.
• Performs rounds and participates in perioperative patient care including first assisting in the operative suite.
• Completes integrated assessments and orders tests as appropriate.
• Communicates results and coordinates follow-up tests and referrals.
• Documents plan of care and education in the medical record.
• Facilitates discharge planning and post-discharge outpatient follow-up.
