Job summary

Lone Peak Dental Group in Tacoma, WA seeks an Orthodontic Assistant who loves working with kids and helping create a positive, stress-free dental experience. You will assist orthodontists, prepare rooms, take X-rays, and maintain instruments, in a team-focused pediatric setting.

We offer competitive pay starting at $23/hr, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, paid time off, CE, referral bonuses, and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in an ortho practice preferred, but we will train the right person.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.
• Additional certification or training is a plus.
• Experience with Denticon software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid-friendly environment.

Requirements

A Typical Day As An Orthodontic Assistant

• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.

• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining a kid-friendly environment.

Schedule

• 8-hour shifts
• Some Saturdays may be required
• Daytime hours – No nights!
