Job summary

Lone Peak Dental Group in Tumwater is seeking a reliable Orthodontic Assistant to support our pediatric patients and create a positive, kid‑friendly experience. You will work with the orthodontist to prepare rooms, assist during procedures, and help with imaging and patient education.

The role offers full‑time hours, a supportive team, and opportunities for continuing education within a child‑focused practice. Experience with Denticon or iTero is a plus.

Qualifications

• X-ray and CPR certification are required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in an ortho practice preferred, but training available for the right candidate.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow‑up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid‑friendly environment.

Requirements

• X-ray and CPR certification is required.

A Typical Day As An Orthodontic Assistant

• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow‑up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.

• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid‑friendly environment.

Schedule

• 8‑hour shifts.
• Some Saturdays may be required.
• Daytime hours – no nights!
