Job summary

Lone Peak Dental Group in Tacoma, WA is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to join our pediatric-focused team. You will help create a positive, stress-free experience for kids and caregivers while supporting clinicians throughout appointments.

This full-time role (30+ hours) features day shifts with some Saturdays, a friendly work environment, and training on Denticon. Expect competitive pay, a benefits package, and opportunities to grow with the practice.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in an orthodontic practice preferred.
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred.
• Experience with Denticon software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure smooth patient flow and maintain a kid-friendly environment.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in an ortho practice is preferred, but we will train the right person!
• Completion of an accredited orthodontic assistant program preferred
• Additional certification or training is a plus
• Experience with Denticon software is a plus.
• Full-time role (30+ hours per week).

A Typical Day as an Orthodontic Assistant:

• Prepare treatment rooms for orthodontic procedures.
• Assist orthodontists during patient appointments and procedures.
• Take and develop dental X-rays.
• Maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
• Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene and care techniques.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and assist with patient scheduling.
• Keep accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensuring smooth patient flow and maintaining a kid-friendly environment.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Some Saturdays may be required
• Daytime hours – No nights!
