Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit, a 41-bed unit noted for hip/knee replacement and fast throughput. The team includes full-time educators, nurse supervisors, a manager, and charge nurses, with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and average stay around three days.

Responsibilities include med/administering meds, wound/trauma care, and collaboration with RNs and physicians to ensure safe, timely care. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed in good standing.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in orthopedics/urology settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids as ordered by RN.
• Charts assessments and contributes to care plans with the RN.
• Assist with NG tube care, trach care and wound care as needed.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
