Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit in the United States. The unit is 41 beds, with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a focus on hip/knee replacement surgeries and trauma care.

Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapies, wound care, NG/ostomy care, patient assessments, and discharge education, with collaboration from RNs and therapists.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensed/qualified to practice in Illinois.
• Education includes a college diploma or equivalent for LPN licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and administers IV piggybacks and fluids as directed.
• Chart assessments and contribute to care plans after RN assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
• Perform trach care, NG tube insertions and feedings, ostomy care.
• Reinforce discharge instructions and patient education.
