Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced LPN to join the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit in Lexington. The 41-bed unit specializes in acutely ill ortho and urology surgical patients, providing medications, wound care, IV therapy, and patient support in a fast-paced environment.

The unit emphasizes teamwork with PT/OT, with a typical 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a focus on short hospital stays to ensure safe, high-quality care for our community.

Qualifications

• LPN with active licensure; BLS certification within 30 days.
• Experience in acute care nursing preferred, including ortho/urology.
• Team-oriented, able to adapt in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications and IV piggybacks; manage fluids as ordered.
• Chart assessments and participate in care planning with RNs.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and follow-up care.
• Perform trach care, NG tube care, and ostomy management as needed.
• Reinforce patient education and discharge instructions.
• Assist with dressing changes and wound care per protocol.
