Job summary

Carle Health is hiring an LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit in a 41-bed unit that partners closely with physical and occupational therapy teams. The unit operates with a strong emphasis on safe, efficient patient throughput and comprehensive nursing care within a supportive educational framework.

The selected candidate will administer medications, perform IV piggybacks, and collaborate with RNs and physicians to implement care plans.

Qualifications

• LPN certification/licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire from American Heart Association (AHA).
• College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required).

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and administers IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push meds).
• Chart assessments on assigned patients after initial RN assessment.
• Coordinate care with physicians/APPs; assist with dressings, NG tube care, and ostomy care.
• Reinforce education and discharge instructions; complete care plans as directed by RN.
