Job summary
Carle Health seeks an experienced LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. You will administer medications, assist with dressings, and collaborate with RNs on a fast-paced, 41-bed unit that treats acute ortho and urology patients, including trauma cases.
The unit emphasizes teamwork with therapists and supports a three-day average length of stay. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV management, patient assessments under RN direction, and education reinforcement.
Qualifications
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with current Illinois IDFPR license and BLS within 30 days.
- Education: College Diploma in Nursing (LPN) and active licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of start.
Responsibilities
- Pass all medications and IV piggybacks per RN guidance.
- Chart assessments on assigned patients after the RN initial assessment.
- Chart care plans; RN opens new plans as needed.
- Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
- Perform trach care, NG tube care, and feedings as needed.
