Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an experienced LPN for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. This fast-paced unit offers a 1:4–6 nurse-to-patient ratio, with a focus on hip/knee replacement care and trauma-level patient flow.

The role supports a full care team including educators, supervisors, and managers, delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is an LPN with BLS and strong medication administration skills, ready to collaborate with RNs and therapists in a three-day max LOS

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.
• BLS certification within 30 days.
• Experience with acute ortho and urology care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications and hangs IV piggybacks; excludes IV push meds.
• Chart assessments and care plans as directed by RN.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and dressing changes.
• Care for NG tubes and feedings; ostomy care; reinforce discharge instructions.
