Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN for NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit in a 41-bed unit. The role includes managing medications, IVs, and neurovascular care, with a fast-paced team focused on rapid patient turnover. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants with 1–2 years of commitment.

Unit collaborates with PT/OT, with RN support and dedicated educators. Strong patient communication and adherence to DNV Hip/Knee program guidelines are valued.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required in IL.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in orthopaedic or urology surgical units is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after the RN has performed initial assessment.
• Coordinate care with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
• Perform trach care as needed and manage NG tube/feedings.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge education.
• Complete dressing changes and advance care planning as needed.
