Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for the NT4 Orthopedics-Urology Surgical Unit. This 41-bed unit provides care for acute ortho and urology patients, with a 1:4-6 nurse-to-patient ratio and a strong collaboration with therapists.

A $2,500 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants with 1–2 year commitment. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV piggybacks, charting, and coordinating care with RNs and physicians.

Qualifications

• LPN licensure in Illinois (IDFPR) required; BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• College diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required).
• Experience in acute ortho/urology settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes medications, hanging IV piggybacks and fluids (excluding IV Push meds).
• Charts assessments and care plans with RN oversight.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
