Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to support the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. The role involves passing medications, administering IV piggybacks, and charting assessments and care plans under RN supervision.

You will coordinate with physicians and APPs, perform trach and NG tube care, ostomy duties, and reinforce discharge instructions. We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus for external applicants with a 1- to 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days is required.
• Experience in acute care settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications and manages IV piggybacks and fluids.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans once opened by the RN; update as needed.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care.
• Perform trach care and NG tube care; manage ostomy care as needed.
• Reinforce discharge education and instructions.
