Job summary

Texas Orthopedics is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Triage to coordinate care outside the clinic visit and ensure timely communication with patients, providers, and third parties. You will help schedule surgeries, imaging, and pre-op/follow-up appointments, processing documentation and authorizations as needed.

The role supports a fast-paced orthopedic team in Austin, with duties that emphasize accuracy, confidentiality, and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years as a medical assistant with hospital, home health, or office experience; orthopedics preferred.
• Two years of surgery scheduling preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates clinical care outside the clinic visit, providing concierge service while ensuring quality and patient safety.
• Schedule surgeries, imaging, and pre-op/follow-up appointments with appropriate facilities.
• Document authorization numbers and dates in the EMR and assist with pre-authorization.
