Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in an office environment and/or health care setting helpful.
• Knowledge of practice management computer systems (EPIC).
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
• Detail oriented and able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance authorization from patient's insurance company.
• Coordinate patient referrals to specialists as requested by providers.
• Enter and maintain accurate data entry of all referrals into database.
• Verify all pertinent documentation has been provided for the type of referral requested.
• Present and ready for work in designated area and adhere to policies.
• Call patient with appointment information and document all stages of referral.
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA policies and participate in team huddles.
