Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nurses in delivering high‑quality patient care. You will take vital signs, assist with exams and procedures, and help manage referrals and documentation for billing and records in a busy clinic.

Ideal candidates have completed a medical assistant program, hold active MA certification, and possess strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Completion of a Banner approved medical assistant training program that also meets state defined regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
Active MA certification types: RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA.
BLS certification required upon hire.
Strong computer skills with medical software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain settings.
Arizona Criminal History Affidavit to be signed upon hire.

Responsibilities

Prepares patient for exam by taking vital signs and recording symptoms and measurements.
Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures.
Coordinates and manages patient care including referrals, scheduling, and test results communication.
Provides clerical support for medical records, labs, x-rays and billing information.
Maintains clean, sterile environment and supports safety protocols.
