Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant certification is required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs and chief complaints; documents pain scores.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; may perform phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs.
• Coordinates and manages patient care including referrals, authorizations, and scheduling; communicates test results to patients.
• Provides clerical support and accurate documentation for billing and medical records.
• Maintains a clean, organized clinical environment and handles supplies and equipment maintenance.
