Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. The role includes administering medications, IV piggybacks, and patient care on a high-acuity unit with emphasis on rapid turnover and teamwork.

Qualifications include an active LPN license (IDFPR) and BLS. Expect collaboration with RNs, physicians, and therapists, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Illinois (IDFPR) or equivalent
• BLS within 30 days - American Heart Association
• College Diploma: Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
• Work Experience as applicable per role requirements

Responsibilities

• Passes all medications, hangs IV piggybacks and fluids, excluding IV Push meds.
• Charts assessments on assigned patients after RN initial assessment.
• Charts on care plans with RN input and updates.
• Communicates with physicians/APPs to receive orders and coordinate care for dressing changes.
• Complete trach care as needed and manage NG tube/feedings.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge instructions.
