Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an LPN to join the NT4 Ortho-Urology Surgical Unit. The unit is a 41-bed, high-throughput environment where staff work closely with physical and occupational therapists to support rapid recovery.

Responsibilities include medication administration, wound and ostomy care, NG tube management, and collaboration with RNs and physicians to ensure safe discharge planning. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered for external applicants committed to 1–2 years.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required and current.
• Experience with acute care is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with RN staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Pass medications, hang IV piggybacks and fluids as ordered.
• Document assessments and care plans after RN initial assessment.
• Coordinate with physicians/APPs for orders and dressings changes.
• Perform trach care and NG tube insertions/feeding per protocol.
• Care for ostomy and reinforce discharge education.
