Methodist Health System is seeking a Patient Representative to greet and assist patients, verify insurance, and manage front desk activities in the PATIENT CARE FACILITY. The role involves registering patients, collecting payments, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

Responsibilities include handling calls, updating data, and maintaining a clean reception area while adhering to privacy policies and office procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of front office procedures and medical terminology.
• Excellent grammar and spelling skills.
• Knowledge in operation of medical office technology systems.
• Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
• Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Maintains confidentiality and privacy in all patient interactions.
• Greets patients promptly, courteously, and helpfully.
• Checks-in patients, updates demographic and insurance information, and collects payments.
• Registers new patients into the system and verifies contact/insurance details.
• Answers calls, screens messages, and conveys information to appropriate staff.
• Keeps reception and work areas neat and orderly.
• Escalates issues to Practice Manager and assists in problem solving.
• Attends educational meetings as scheduled.
• Calculates daily balances of charges and receipts as directed.
