Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Lead Orientation Specialist to own the new-hire orientation experience from offer through training and integration into a team. This role ensures a welcoming, structured process and smooth handoffs into assigned roles while coordinating with Recruiting, HR, and IT to deliver a high-quality first-day experience.

The position emphasizes project management, schedules, logistics, and stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• One year of progressive experience in orientation, onboarding, learning and development.
• Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
• Experience coordinating complex schedules, logistics, and operational workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to build relationships and influence outcomes without relying on formal authority.
• Service-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in helping people succeed.

Responsibilities

• Lead Interstates’ enterprise orientation program for professional, craft, and manufacturing team members.
• Coordinate the experience from offer acceptance through initial technical or craft training and transition into an assigned role.
• Plan and manage schedules, presenters, instructors, facilities, technology, materials, communications, travel, and learning activities.
• Facilitate orientation sessions and help new team members understand Interstates’ culture, values, safety expectations, and business operations.
• Create a consistent experience while keeping each interaction personal and welcoming.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues that could affect the new team member experience.
• Ensure smooth handoffs into assigned teams, field roles, or shop positions.
• Be the central point of coordination for Recruiting, HR, Workforce Planning, Instructors, IT, Safety, Payroll, Hiring Leaders, and more.
