Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking an Orientation Specialist to design and administer inclusive student programming that enhances engagement and experiential learning. You will coordinate logistics, timelines, and staffing to support first-year, transfer, and international students across departments.

The role requires collaboration with campus partners, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple events and programs in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Education beyond minimum may substitute for work experience.
  • 2 years in student services, higher education, or related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple programs and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with students and staff to achieve shared student programming goals.
  • Coordinate Orientation logistics with detailed timelines and operations.
  • Develop and maintain calendars, schedules, and tools for recruitment, onboarding, and training.
  • Serve as liaison between Orientation leadership and events teams for spaces, logistics, and readiness.
  • Manage Orientation check-in procedures, staffing, and materials.
  • Oversee supplies, purchasing, inventory, and material prep for each program.
  • Coordinate safety readiness and emergency procedures with campus partners.
  • Manage communication platforms and content, including ZeeMee.
  • Provide backup operational support for office communications during peak periods.
  • Lead projects and guide undergraduate staff to improve program delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
