Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent with 5 years of professional experience.
  • Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in organizational development, change management, or talent development.
  • 2+ years of experience leading large-scale system implementations.
  • Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) and/or Organizational Development preferred.
  • Strong facilitation, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to guide groups through complex discussions and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with change management frameworks (Prosci, Kotter).

Organizational Development and Change Management Consultant

Position summary: The Organizational Development and Change Management Consultant, within the Division of University Human Resources for the University of Georgia, structures and implements organizational development and change management strategies, facilitates stakeholder engagement, and partners across functional areas to ensure successful adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working. This senior internal consultant serves university leaders, departments, and HR partners to improve organizational effectiveness through change management, team development, leadership support, workforce education, and organizational assessment, with an initial focus on implementing a new Unified Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

Responsibilities
  • Lead ERP implementation efforts, including stakeholder engagement and adoption strategies.
  • Develop and execute change management plans aligned with ERP project milestones.
  • Conduct change impact analyses and organizational readiness assessments.
  • Partner with UGA ERP Change Management team and functional workstreams to align change and communication strategies.
  • Support development of change networks, champions, and ambassador programs across the institution.
  • Design reinforcement strategies to sustain adoption post‑implementation.
  • Conduct assessments to identify organizational effectiveness gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive organizational development plans aligned with institutional and HR strategy.
  • Design and implement organizational effectiveness programs that support employee development and growth.
  • Facilitate workshops and sessions focused on organizational effectiveness, team performance, and change readiness.
  • Collaborate with multiple University HR departments and business units to align initiatives.
  • Oversee UGA Team Development Service Request intake and delivery process.
  • Partner with Learning & Development team to ensure training strategies support behavior change and ERP adoption.
  • Serve as a consultant to campus leaders and stakeholders to navigate organizational change.
  • Collect and analyze stakeholder feedback through surveys and assessments to refine programs.
  • Track progress of organizational effectiveness and change initiatives and report outcomes to leadership.
  • Research and apply best practices in organizational development and change management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 5 years of professional experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Business, or related field.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of experience in organizational development, change management, or talent development.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience leading large‑scale system implementations.
  • Preferred: Certification in Change Management (e.g., Prosci) and/or Organizational Development.
  • Ability to guide groups through complex discussions, decision‑making, and collaborative problem‑solving.
  • Ability to utilize data and translate insights into actions.
  • Knowledge of change management frameworks (e.g., Prosci, Kotter).
  • Familiarity with learning strategies and workforce development.
  • Understanding of organizational assessment and diagnosis.
  • Ability to collaborate across various business units.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead trainings.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and organizational complexity.
Benefits and Working Conditions

Full‑time, on‑site position based in Athens, Georgia. Work schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Salary range: $70,000 – $82,000 (commensurate with experience). This is a senior internal consultant role with primary duties performed in an office setting, involving extended periods of sitting and computer use.
