Job summary

New England Donor Services is seeking an Organ Donation Coordinator (ICU RN or Respiratory Therapist) to respond on-site to donor referrals and provide expert donor evaluation, management and organ recovery across New England. Position includes travel and on-call day shifts.

Ideal candidates have critical care or trauma experience, a Bachelor’s Degree, and are comfortable educating hospital staff and families about donation. January 2027 cohort start.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years clinical/critical care experience
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; CPTC certification a plus
• Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to travel extensively across New England

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise in donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation and organ recovery on-site
• Educate hospital staff on the donation process and obtain donor-consent from families
• Coordinate with multiple surgical teams and critical care staff to optimize organs for transplantation
• Travel by personal vehicle across New England; participate in on-call 16-hour day shifts and related trainings
