Job summary

The Clinical Response Coordinator at UAB Medicine participates in the organ donation process with Legacy of Hope (LoH). You will conduct on-site donor hospital visits, assess initial medical suitability, communicate with hospital staff, and coordinate downstream steps with the transplant team.

Responsibilities include donor management after brain death, arranging labs and testing, guiding families, and supporting transport logistics to the donor recovery center, all while applying clinical

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a medical or related field and one year of experience in nursing, EMT, Paramedic, Respiratory Therapist, Social Worker, or donation industry.
• Work experience may substitute for education; preferred hospital experience, crisis intervention, and grief support.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured; preferred professional licensure/certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site donor hospital visits within coverage area and assess initial suitability for donation.
• Coordinate transport of blood for serological testing and tissue typing to laboratories.
• Initiate donor management after brain death and support family needs when appropriate.
