Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Operating Room team is seeking an OR Technician in New Jersey. This hourly role supports surgical procedures by preparing the OR, passing instruments, and assisting surgeons and nurses.

You will maintain sterile technique, assist with patient care around surgery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary perioperative team. Accredited OR Technician training and current AST and BLS certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and accredited OR Technician training.
• Current AST certification and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Provide scrub support to surgeons and perioperative staff.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention throughout procedures.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Support instrument and equipment handling between procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and other team members.
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
