RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech III at Jersey City Medical Center in the Operating Room. The role supports the surgical team under the direction of the RN and surgeon, ensuring patient care before, during and after procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, completed OR Tech training, 2–3 years of experience, NBSTSA certification, and BLS with American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in an OR setting.
• Strong knowledge scrubbing the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to make calls, be flexible, multitask and work independently.

Pay Range: $31.41- $38.42, per hour

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
