RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech II to support the operating room team. The role requires scrub tech training, multiple service line experience, and strong communication in a fast-paced setting.

The position is full-time, evening shift, with hourly pay of $31.41–$38.42 and benefits as part of RWJBarnabas Health total rewards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Ability to scrub across robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic and trauma cases.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the perioperative nurse to organize and deliver age-appropriate patient care.
• Maintain a safe surgical environment and support patient outcomes in the operating room.
• Ensure patients' physiologic responses to surgery are as expected across the perioperative division.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 - 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements

• 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
• Every other weekend and Holiday
• Full Time
