Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OR Tech III at Jersey City Medical Center. The role is vital to the surgical team, providing essential assistance during surgeries and ensuring patient care. Candidates should possess a high school diploma, complete OR Technician training, and have 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years of experience in a surgical environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility and ability to make calls when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering patient care during surgery under a Registered Nurse.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure surgical instruments are ready.
• Maintain sterile environments and assist the surgical team.

Skills

Knowledge of service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multitask and work independently

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Completion of an OR Technician training program

Pay Range: $35.40 per hour

Job Overview

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 - 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls; must be flexible, able to multitask and work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association, required

Scheduling Requirements

• 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
