Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is recruiting an OR Tech III for the Operating Room. The role supports perioperative teams, assists with patient care, and helps maintain a safe surgical environment across the perioperative division.

The position requires an Surgical Technician program, NBSTSA certification, and a 7:00 am–3:00 pm schedule with every other weekend and holidays. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the perioperative RN and team to organize and administer individualized patient care.
• Maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes.
• Ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
