Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech III to join the Operating Room team. You will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care before, during and after surgery.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an OR technician program, 2–3 years of experience, and NBSTSA certification with BLS. This is a full-time day shift with alternating weekends and call coverage.

Qualifications

• HighSchool diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an OR Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience in OR settings.
• Scrub knowledge across robotics, vascular, neurovascular, general, ortho, trauma.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery under RN supervision.
• Assist surgeon and team with scrub duties across service lines.
• Maintain sterile technique and flexible on-call coverage.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an OR Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician, required
• NBSTSA Certification, required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Full Time
• Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
