Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech III to join the Operating Room during night shifts. You will assist the perioperative team and help ensure safe patient care across various surgical service lines.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a surgical technician program, 2–3 years of experience, NBSTSA certification and BLS. Strong communication, multitasking, and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program is required.
• 2–3 years of experience in a surgical setting is required.
• Must scrub for multiple service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, trauma, and general surgery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be able to multitask, work independently and make calls.

• Maintain an environment that supports safe patient outcomes in the surgical suite.
• Monitor and respond to patients' physiologic responses during surgery across the perioperative division.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

In collaboration with the perioperative registered nurse, the surgical technician will function as a member of the team to organize and administer individualizes age specific care to patients, maintain an environment that facilitates safe patient outcomes, and ensure patient’s physiologic responses to surgery are as expected in the surgical suite and across the perioperative division.

Qualifications:

Required:

• HighSchooldiplomaorequivalent
• Completion of an Surgical Technician training program
• 2 – 3 years of experience
• Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
• Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Certified Surgical Technician (NBSTSA) required
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association
